Pofis

An internal tool that turns turnstile records into a clear view of a 40-hour working week, with a small companion named Pofi.

Pofis began with a calculation I kept having to do: adding up turnstile entries and exits to see where I stood in a 40-hour working week. I wanted that answer to be easier to find through the day.

It reads my attendance records through PDKS, the workplace attendance system, and brings daily hours, weekly totals, and a personal work plan into one view. Recorded time and the estimate for an ongoing day stay visibly separate. Missing or unclear records keep their uncertainty on screen.

Pofi gives the tool a character of its own: a small cat with an employee badge, a room, an album, and notes to return to. The interface keeps the numbers clear, while Pofi adds a little warmth to an otherwise routine part of the working day.

Pofis is live as an internal tool on the web, Windows, and macOS. The desktop versions bring the same application into a dedicated window, with a weekly plan that can be adjusted around the days ahead.

how it works

  • The user signs in with their own PDKS account to view their personal entry and exit records.
  • Recorded time runs from the first entry to the last exit of the day; breaks between those records are included. An ongoing day can also show a separate live estimate.
  • A personal weekly plan starts at 40 hours across Monday to Friday. Daily targets and planned days off can be adjusted without changing the source attendance records.
  • Daily details and previous weeks keep the underlying movements available alongside the summaries. Ambiguous records are explained with their causes and times.
  • Pofi has changing illustrations, a room, an album, and daily notes within the same application.
  • Desktop versions are available for Windows x64 and macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel. At startup, the app checks for a newer version and offers to copy the installation command, which the user runs to update.
